What is Transconjunctival Blepharoplasty?

Endoscopic Brow Lift

If you have bags or puffiness under the eyes, blepharoplasty can eliminate them and give you a more youthful look. Blepharoplasty or eyelid surgery has become very popular within the last decade, as many people go in search of a rejuvenated look. Cosmetic eyelid surgery makes the eyes look fuller and more alert.

Lower eyelid Blepharoplasty

Lower lid blepharoplasty is recommended for patients with undereye bags or puffiness. This procedure will remove excess skin and reposition the fat, in order to restore the lower lid area.  Undereye bags are typically caused by the protrusion of fatty deposits that lie behind the eyelids.

Surgical Techniques

There are multiple techniques used to perform eyelid surgery, and your plastic surgeon will determine which is best for you. The subcillary approach is the traditional method in which the incision is made beneath the line of the lower eyelid.

Transconjunctival Blepharoplasty

Transconjunctival blepharoplasty is one of the newer approaches being used to perform lower eyelid surgery. It is a more conservative method of skin excision, as the incision is made inside the eyelid. This makes it easier to access the orbital fat (learn more).

In transconjunctival blepharoplasty, the fat is repositioned rather than being removed as was the case in older techniques. Also, because of the location of the incision there are no visible scars after the operation.   The transconjunctival technique yields very good results and has fewer complications, such as postoperative eyelid retraction.

Blepharoplasty can be particularly challenging, therefore patients should ensure that they enlist the services of a very experienced plastic surgeon, who is also knowledge about the anatomy of the eye.

Get natural looking Breast augmentation without implants

Are you looking for natural looking breast augmentation without implants? If you are, you should take the time to learn about a process known as autologous fat transfer (fat grafting). The technique is now being used to perform several cosmetic enhancement procedures, including breast augmentation.

What is natural breast augmentation (with fat grafting)?
Breast augmentation using autologous fat transfer is a minimally invasive outpatient procedure that is done to increase breast volume. The fat is used to fill in the upper pole of the breasts where there is loose skin and tissue. The technique is less stressful on the body when compared to traditional artificial implants, and requires a shorter recovery time.

How is the procedure done
The fat is first harvested (via liposuction) from a part of the body where there is a surplus amount, such as the thighs, back, or flanks. It is then purified, before being  injected into the breasts to add volume.

Fat transfer is very effective in filling out the upper pole of the breast, which is the area that tends to droop due to breast feeding or weight loss.

Breast augmentation with fat grating takes about 3 hours to complete.

Best candidates for natural breast augmentation
The procedure is suited to women who would like a moderate breast enhancement that looks natural. They should also have sufficient fat to use for the procedure.

Benefits of natural breast augmentation
Since breast augmentation with autologous fat transfer is a natural procedure, there is no risk of rupture or capsular contracture (hardening of the breast due to scar tissue). In addition, the incisions are very small.
